Parsons Green

Located right in the heart of Fulham and encircling the triangular green of the same name, Parsons Green has become very much a brand in itself - distinct from Fulham - and normally comes top of the list for people looking to buy in the area.

The neighbourhood

Parsons Green refers to the grids of pretty streets around Parsons Green itself and is arguably Fulham's most desirable location. Its home to numerous cafes and restaurants and pretty streets of Victorian terraced houses, as well as the green itself and the tube station of the same name. The area is normally top on buyers' lists and houses here can vary greatly in size from the smaller examples on St Dionis Road or Novello Street to fully extended long back "Lion Houses" on the Peterborough Estate.

The area

The area's heart, roughly speaking, is bordered by the tube line, Stokenchurch Street, Eelbrook Common and Munster Road although it’s hard to draw a true line of division between Parsons Green and the surrounding sub areas. Perhaps the most coveted area of Parsons Green is the Peterborough Estate located just to the south of the green. Here there are a plethora of large brick houses crested with statues of Lions which give the houses their colloquial name: Lion Houses. The closer you get to the green itself the higher price you will be expected to pay on a £’s per square foot basis.

Fulham text

Parsons Green District line tube station provides quick links to the rest of London and there are numerous bus routes running along New Kings Road and Fulham Road.

The green is a great spot for a stroll or picnic in the sun, as is Eelbrook Common. The river and the Thames Path is not far away and if you’re into rock climbing, there’s a fantastic bouldering wall in the small business park near the tube station.

Lady Margaret girl’s school is a highly regarded school right on the green and the London Oratory boy’s school is also nearby. There are various independent schools nearby including Kensington Prep school.

A good mix of cafes, basrs and restaurants can be found on Parsons Green Lane and New Kings Road including the popular Bayley & Sage delicatessen and the famous (or infamous) White Horse pub at the northern end of the green. Brik’s home is also also here, right next to the White Horse pub.
